I hope you all had a good one! We sure enjoyed time with our family... except the exciting part where my sister had to go to the ER due to her Gallbladder at 1:30 in the morning! That part was bad because I was so worried about her. She is having surgery on New Year's Eve.
The kids were so much fun, and it was great watching their excitement! :)
We were very blessed with the company of our family, and loved our gifts, too.
Next Christmas, we plan on being in Utah. That will be fun!

Happy Anniversary Sweetheart!!
My wonderful, sweet husband and I are celebrating our First Anniversary today! It is such an exciting milestone, and I'm so happy to have reached it! I was blessed with the perfect husband for me... I know Heavenly Father was watching out for us. We went to dinner, and then to see Twilight. (his 2nd time, my 3rd time) Thank you to all of you who believed in us... even though it was one of those "whirlwind" things. I love my new extended family, and I know Kerry feels the same about my side of the family, too. I love you always Honey Fowers...

Dad and Mom Fowers
So I met my Mother- and Father-in-Law for the first time. They are on the way home from Florida Jacksonville Mission. They are so fun, definately my husband's parents! We went to the OKC Bombing Memorial, Lake Hefner, and the OKC Temple. Also had dinner with my family a few times. My Mom did a fab job with supper on Saturday night and Sunday evening. She is so good to us! Made homemade chicken pot pie. She's the best!

I Have the Most Wonderful Husband in the Universe!!
My birthday was Wednesday, Nov. 5th. Kerry said he was still working on my present, so he couldn't give it to me until Thursday. Then he called me at work and asked me to stay an extra hour -- he wasn't finished. I stayed an hour and a half extra, and then came home. I walked in, and WHOA!!!!
My dear, sweet, wonderful, amazing husband had cleaned the entire apartment! De-cluttered, vacuumed, some dusting, the whole enchilada!! The best birthday present ever!!!!! I called several friends and told them.... I just love my amazingly wonderful husband!! :)

Family History
I have gotten bit by the Family History Bug!! I've always been interested, but lately my interest has intensified.
Recently I called my cousin Dee. (1st cousin once removed) My GG (grandma ginn) had a sister named Gwen. Dee is Aunt Gwen's daughter. I barely remember Aunt Gwen, because I was a child when she passed away. However, I have fond memories of her, Dee, and Dee's daughter, Molly.
It has been fun renewing our acquaintance. I've learned a ton of Family History info from Dee. (she's in her 70s) I wish we lived closer so I could have gotten to know her better through the years. She is a sweetheart, and young at heart! :)
It's so cool to get to know your family, even your ancestors. I feel closer to my family than I ever have. I'm so very glad that Dee and I are able to bond like that. The Morgans/Reeds are cool people to have as family, and I'm happy I'm getting to know them.

Capri
I have to tell you, Kerry and I are absolutely IN LOVE with Capri! She is gorgeous and sweet! I can't get enough of her! She is already smiling, (and no, it's NOT gas! lol), she makes the most darling little cooing noises... I can't wait to hear her and see her and hold her. Kerry and I practically fight over who gets to hold her first and for how long! lol

Dona Bradway
Dona passed away this morning. She is no longer in pain, and is now with her beloved son, Wesley. I know she misses the daughters and husband she left behind, though. I love you, Dona, and can't wait to see you again!

Dona
My dear friend, Dona Bradway, has been fighting breast cancer for at least three years now... maybe four. She is my second Mom, and I adore her. Seems like it would get cleared up in one spot, then move to another. We thought she was getting better... she started on yet another round of chemo, two different kinds at once, actually. They proved to be too much for her, and she became septic. Is in intense pain, delirious.
They are now giving her "Comfort Care". Just giving her pain meds, making her comfortable until she passes on. I can hardly stand it!
Dona was my Mia Maid teacher, my confidant, my unwavering friend. I could always talk to her about anything at all. Even when she didn't approve of my choices, she still respected my right to make them. And supported me. I love Dona. I don't want her to go, but I don't want her to suffer even more.... so, I must resign myself to the fact that she will soon be with Heavenly Father, and I will need to wait years before I get to see her again. But I can't be selfish... however much I want to. Dona is one of the most unselfish, kind people I know. I am proud to know her.

Truckin'...
We sold Kerry's truck yesterday. :( Kerry is sad about it, and I don't much care for having one car. However, selling the truck allowed us to pay our electricity, which is a definate plus! lol And put some moolah in the bank. So, there ya go. We will be moving into a smaller apartment soon, which will allow us to save more money and pay more bills. So exciting was this blog, I know.... but at least it's a vague update.

Hair Cut Gone Awry

So yesterday Kerry asked me to trim the hair above his ears as it was getting a little long. I told him that I didn't know how to cut hair, but that I thought it probably wouldn't be too hard just to trim around his ears. He got the hair clippers out, and I set to work. I said, "Oops! I think I got a little too much!" He went inside to look at it, and came back out and said it was okay, just do the other side the same way. I began, and said, "Oops! Now I've really cut too much!" He went in to look at it, came back out and said, "Now you've got to shave it!" OOPS!! hehehe So I shaved. As I shaved, I got a bright idea to leave his hair in a mohawk. He thought it was a great idea, as we were getting ready to go to my Mom's house for Mother's Day. He put some gel in his hair to help the mohawk stand up. Sweet! hehehe
When we walked in, the look on Mom's face.... priceless! She thought it was hilarious, and busted out the camera. Kimberly's eyes got really big and she turned away, and Leo said, "Cool!" Pops laughed and laughed. It was great! Kerry said that his Mom always cut his hair and that of his brothers'. I remarked that our kids won't be able to say that... they will go to professionals! I've certainly learned my lesson!

Happy Birthday Daddy!
My Daddy would have been 55 today. I know I'll always miss him, but some days it seems so fresh still. I frequently feel like he is close by, which you would think helps, but it doesn't really. One of the hardest things is this: I will see a picture of an eagle, or maybe an old tv show we both liked is selling episodes on dvd, and I want to call and tell him. Or something funny will happen and I want to call and tell him. Or I have a question about something, however unimportant or important, and I want to call and ask him. And I can't. That's what is hardest... the moment I remember that he's gone. After 5 years, you'd think I wouldn't forget... but I had him for just over 26 years! So obviously that won't be wiped away after just 5 years. But still... I miss him so much!!!!! I love you Daddy!

The Ring
I have lost my beautiful wedding ring! :( I'm so sad! I took it off to put lotion on at work, and it disappeared. I will look for it at home, but I am certain it was lost here at work.

Grandma
My Grandma, Virginia Grider, passed away this morning. She was at a lovely hospice facility called "Odyssey House". She went very peacefully, and is now free of pain. She's with her family now. The Chaplain, Jerry, and all the nurses are incredible!! Kindness personified! I would like to start volunteering there. Jerry gave me the name and number of a lady to talk to about it.

Long time no write...
Sorry everyone... I don't really have much to say. I'm working hard at losing weight, trying to be healthy so Kerry and I can have a baby, and so I can live to be an old lady, a grandma. I love my husband and my family, and I want to be around for them. My blood sugar is coming down (yea!!!), and I'm losing inches. I was able to wear a pink shirt I love and it fit me nicely. It used to be too tight. :)
Kerry is doing this with me, working out and encouraging me to eat better and trying to do so himself. It's great!
I've been put into the nursery at church, and I love it! The little kiddos are sooo funny! Smart, too! Kerry has been put in as an assistant scout master with the cub scouts. We are doing nicely. Write more soon.

Babies Everywhere!!
Kerry and I are once again an uncle and aunt!
Daniel Carl Fowers was born on Thursday, January 3, 2008 at about 4:20p.m. 8 lbs, 4oz. Proud parents are Brian and Linnell Fowers. (Kerry's oldest brother.) I'm not sure how long he was, since Kerry tried to tell me initially that Brian said 11 1/2 inches, which would basically make him a basketball. I'll have to ask Linnell myself when I call.
Abigail Grace Fowers was born on Friday, January 4, 2008, at 10:26 a.m. 6lbs, 2oz., 18 in. long. Proud parents are Kevin and Tanya Fowers. (Kerry's twin.)
Anyway, we are way excited to see the pictures of the little guy and little gal. Even more excited to meet them next year. Congratulations to all, and welcome to our family little ones! :)
