Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!

We went down to Texas for Christmas. Mom and Pops, Kim and Leo, and Kerry and me. Kerry and I were the last ones there (rather pitiful as we left before Mom and Pops! lol) The kids were already in bed, but we got to see them for a second because they needed "kisses". Well, what kind of Aunt would I be if I refused to give those angels their kisses? hehehe

Anyway, we had a wonderful Christmas with the family. The kiddos were so cute! It was so funny to see them get their presents from Santa, and how excited they were! The dinner was delicious, as was the breakfast that morning. Lauren is the first person I've known to be able to defrost and heat up frozen mashed potatoes, and have them taste fresh. It's awesome!

We also got to partake of the Wii craze. That's a fun gaming device! I wish we had one, and so does Kerry. By the time we can afford one, though, there'll probably be something even better. So really in a way, bonus!

Ice Storm December 2007

So today started another ice storm. We woke up to my dad, then my mom, then a brother at church all calling us to let us know that church had been canceled for today. Church doesn't get canceled often, but ice storms are certainly one way to get it closed! lol

Anyway, we are supposed to get more tomorrow and Tuesday. So tonight, Kerry and I went outside to scrape our respective vehicles. It took at least 30 minutes to scrape my car alone, then we scraped his. While we were out there, there were three flashes of bright green light in the southern sky. I called my mom and she said that the ice was causing trees to fall down on power lines, which in turn knocked out the electricity. (and caused the bright flashes). Check out these pics...

Friday Night Smackdown

Sooooooo... Kerry wants to watch wrestling. I want to watch "Movies Rock". He has watched an hour of it, and I'm not digging it! lol I say it's my turn to watch my show. He agreed. Mostly I think because he loves me than because he really wants to watch it. Getting married at Christmas time has made me really think.

First of all, Kerry and I are newlyweds, and very much in love, so of course we are extra solicitous of each other. Then you throw in the magic of the Christmas season, and it's the most special time of all! :) Now, I'm not trying to be all sappy, but I think it's important to remember these feelings for as long as I can. I plan to be with Kerry forever. These happy, warm, magical feelings shouldn't end when we are no longer newlyweds or the New Year approaches or we have our first fight.

I know real life will set in, bills will come, hardships and good times all. However, we can continue to think of each other, continue to do little things for one another, and each put the other above ourselves. I know it won't be all sunshine and roses... but I do believe we can always have some of this season's magic all year long by being kind and doing acts of service for each other. You know, "Remember the Reason for the Season." I love you all, Merry Christmas!!!
